Another Milestone for SXKH India: 2nd Die Spotting Press Successfully Installed at Motherson Group

In modern manufacturing, precision, productivity and safe tooling operations are becoming increasingly important for manufacturers handling complex dies and moulds.

Marking another important milestone for SXKH India, our engineering team has successfully completed the installation, commissioning and final handover of the 2nd SXKH Die Spotting Press at the Motherson Group Gujarat facility.

This project represents more than the installation of another machine. It reflects the growing importance of advanced die and mould manufacturing equipment in modern toolrooms, where faster mould matching, controlled testing, precision alignment and operator safety directly contribute to manufacturing efficiency.

We sincerely thank the Motherson Group team for their continued trust, collaboration and support throughout the project.

From Installation to Production: A Complete Project Execution

For industrial machinery, successful delivery is only one part of the process.

At SXKH India, our focus extends from machine installation to commissioning, testing, safety verification and production handover.

The Motherson Group project followed a structured execution process:

Mechanical Setup → Electrical & CNC Commissioning → Safety Interlock Verification → Trial Pressing & Accuracy Checks → Final Production Handover

Each stage was carried out to ensure that the Die Spotting Press was properly integrated and ready for practical toolroom operations.

1. Mechanical Setup

The first stage involved positioning and mechanically setting up the Die Spotting Press at the designated production area.

Proper machine installation is essential for maintaining stability, accuracy and reliable operation during mould spotting and testing.

2. Electrical & CNC Commissioning

Following mechanical installation, the SXKH engineering team completed the electrical and CNC commissioning process.

The machine's control architecture enables operators to manage critical spotting and pressing operations through an intuitive interface.

3. Safety Interlock Verification

Safety is a critical consideration when working with heavy dies and moulds.

The commissioning process included verification of the machine's safety interlocking systems to ensure controlled operation during tooling activities.

4. Trial Pressing & Accuracy Checks

Trial operations were conducted to verify machine performance, pressing functions and accuracy.

This stage is particularly important for a Die Spotting Press, where controlled movement and precision are required during mould matching, inspection and correction.

5. Final Production Handover

After successful testing and verification, the machine was handed over to the Motherson Group team for production use.

The completion of this process marks another successful SXKH India installation in India's advanced manufacturing sector.

Why a Die Spotting Press Matters in a Modern Toolroom

Mould fitting and spotting can be time-consuming when performed using conventional methods.

A dedicated Die Spotting Press provides a controlled environment for operations such as:

  • Mould matching

  • Blue spotting

  • Mould correction

  • Alignment verification

  • Ejector testing

  • Core function testing

  • Precision inspection

Instead of relying heavily on production machines for mould development and correction, manufacturers can use dedicated spotting equipment designed specifically for tooling applications.

This can help toolrooms improve workflow efficiency while keeping production equipment focused on manufacturing.

SXKH India describes its HMG-JM Die Spotting Press range around features including four hydraulic cylinders, four-column construction, one-touch operation, precision and parallelism measurement.

Up to 80% Time Savings in Mould Spotting

One of the major objectives of dedicated spotting equipment is to reduce the time required for mould matching and correction.

Depending on the application and existing spotting method, the SXKH Die Spotting Press can reduce spotting time by up to 80% compared with traditional manual spotting methods.

For high-volume toolrooms, saving time during mould development can have a significant operational impact.

Faster spotting can contribute to:

  • Shorter mould development cycles

  • Faster corrections

  • Reduced repeated handling

  • Better machine availability

  • Faster tool approval

  • Improved toolroom productivity

The exact time saving will naturally depend on mould size, complexity, existing processes and operating conditions.

Engineering Designed for Precision and Control

The Die Spotting Press installed at the Motherson Group Gujarat facility incorporates advanced engineering systems designed to support modern toolroom requirements.

Advanced CNC/PMC Control

The control system combines CNC/PMC technology with an intuitive HMI interface, providing operators with controlled access to machine functions.

Precision Servo Motor Drive

A precision servo motor drive supports controlled machine movement and contributes to accurate operation.

Multi-Level Safety Interlocks

The system incorporates mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic safety interlocking mechanisms designed to support safer machine operation.

Dynamic Ejector System

The dynamic ejector function supports mould testing and verification during tooling operations.

Core Function

The machine also supports core-related functions required during mould testing and validation.

Together, these systems help create a more controlled environment for mould spotting, matching, inspection and correction.

Improving Toolroom Productivity Beyond the Machine

A modern toolroom is not simply about having more machinery.

It is about creating a workflow where equipment, engineers and processes work together efficiently.

A dedicated Die Spotting Press can help address several common toolroom challenges:

Reduced Manual Spotting

Traditional manual spotting can involve repeated fitting, checking, correction and reassembly.

A dedicated spotting press provides a controlled platform for these activities.

Better Mould Accessibility

Toolmakers need clear access to mould surfaces and components when identifying contact areas and performing corrections.

Faster Correction Cycles

Identifying spotting issues earlier can reduce unnecessary trial-and-error during mould development.

Improved Safety

Controlled machine movement and integrated safety systems can help reduce risks associated with manual mould handling and pressing operations.

Better Production Planning

When mould development and spotting can be performed independently, production machinery can remain focused on its primary manufacturing role.

SXKH India and Advanced Toolroom Machinery

SXKH India focuses on providing advanced machinery and engineering solutions for modern die and mould manufacturing environments.

Its product portfolio includes:

  • Die Spotting Press

  • Mould Flipper

  • Die Splitter

  • Trimming Press

  • Die & Mould Testing Machine

  • Quick Die Change (QDC) System

  • Deep Hole Drilling Machine

  • EDM Machine

  • Other Hydraulic Press Solutions

These technologies address different stages of tooling, including mould spotting, handling, testing, machining and production support.

For manufacturers looking to modernize their toolrooms, selecting the right equipment should begin with understanding the actual operational bottleneck—whether it is mould spotting time, handling, changeover, inspection, machining or testing.

A Successful Installation Is a Partnership

The successful installation of the 2nd SXKH Die Spotting Press at Motherson Group's Gujarat facility is another example of how engineering execution and customer collaboration come together to deliver industrial projects.

From mechanical installation and commissioning to safety verification, trial pressing and final handover, every stage requires coordination between the equipment supplier and the manufacturing team.

We appreciate the Motherson Group team for their continued trust in SXKH India.

We also congratulate our dedicated SXKH engineering team for completing another installation and commissioning project successfully.

Building the Future of Indian Toolrooms

As Indian manufacturing continues to move toward higher precision, shorter lead times and more efficient production systems, advanced toolroom machinery is becoming increasingly important.

A modern Die Spotting Press can play an important role in this transformation by supporting faster mould matching, controlled testing, improved accessibility and more efficient correction processes.

The installation of our second Die Spotting Press at the Motherson Group Gujarat facility is another step forward in our commitment to supporting manufacturers with reliable and precision-focused tooling solutions.
